Types of Lodging

Located on 90 acres of pristine wetlands and woodlands, within a majestic white pine forest, ARC offers Private, and Group retreats year-round. Trails are available for walking and snowshoeing, and our labyrinth is available for walking meditation. Tasty, nutritious meals, including homemade bread, garner us rave reviews and are included in the cost of lodging.

The Lodge

The Lodge accommodates a maximum of 16 guests in 10 single rooms and 3 double rooms. Guest rooms are private with shared bathrooms.

The Lodge also has a meditation room, library, bookshop, large and small meeting areas, two fireplaces, a screened-in porch, and other spaces conducive to rest and reflection. Linens and towels are provided.

The Cottage

The cottage accommodates 4 guests with a bedroom with a queen bed and a walk-up loft with a double bed.

The cottage offers a large living room with an A-frame window looking out over the woods, a deck, a gas fireplace, a fully-equipped kitchen, and one bathroom. The Cottage also has a washer and dryer.

Please note that the cottage is located over an occupied apartment.

The Hermitage

The Hermitage, a single-person dwelling in the woods, lends itself to a more solitary retreat. The hermitage is a bright, lofty room with a kitchenette and screened-in porch. The setting is ideal for those desiring more solitude. It is a place where one may enter into the emptiness of isolation and silence to be encountered by Spirit.

“ARC was born in the womb of silence.” Ruth Halvorson, founder

Since the 1970s, thousands of guests have been drawn to the beauty and grandeur of the Lodge and Cottage in this creekside, forested oasis. Hundreds more have retreated to the Hermitage. ARC’s setting on 90 acres of pristine forest and protected wetlands is a place of healing, renewal and respite.

Like the threads of mycelia that spread throughout this land facilitating communication between organisms and aiding the exchange of nutrients, members of the ARC family as guests, practitioners, volunteers, and donors are part of an ‘ecosystem’ interconnected through the restorative power of nature, nurturing and silence.

As stewards of this land and this exceptional retreat center, it is our duty to see to its financial health.  The current published overnight rates reflect the value of your stay at ARC.

With the help of private donations, we are able to offer scholarships and membership options that will allow ARC to remain accessible to all.
